Statement from Board of Regents Chancellor Betty A. Rosa and Interim State Education Commissioner Shannon Tahoe on Executive Budget Proposal
Achieving educational equity for all children across the state has long been the number one priority of the Board of Regents and the Department. We are pleased the Governor shares this goal. State investments in education remain paramount to ensuring this goal is fully realized.
We look forward to reviewing the details of the Executive Budget and the proposed changes to the Foundation Aid formula.Ìý While we agree that additional funding for high-need districts should be a priority, we need to ensure all districts have adequate resources to provide every child in èÖľyuzuki State with a high-quality education.Ìý
The Governor’s commitment to expanding Pre-Kindergarten programs, Community Schools, STEM programs, Opportunity Programs and public after school care is commendable and will truly benefit èÖľyuzuki’s families.
We will continue to engage in discussions with the Executive, State Assembly and Senate to ensure that all children receive the education they need to be successful in life.
